The Center of Family Law and the Rights of the Child

The Center of Family Law and the Rights of the Child is one of the units of the Institute of Legal Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The Center' s research is focused on the classic part of civil law, i.e. the family law, concentrating especially on foster care, matrimonial  property relations and legal aspects of medical assisted procreation. The members of the research unit carry on research concerning also personal civil law such as legal capacity to enter into legal relations and mechanisms of the protection of the rights of a child, including international standards.

  Research interests: civil law, family law with special regard to problems of foster care

The staff:

• Prof. dr iuris Tadeusz Smyczyński
  Research interests: civil law with special regard to rights to property, family law especially matrimonial property rights, maintenance between family members.
• Lechosław Kociucki, PhD
  Research interests: family law, personal civil law with special regard to the legal capacity to enter into legal relations, incapacitation, guardianship on minors and totally incapacitated persons and collateral security of claim.
• Małgorzata Łączkowska PhD
  Research interests: civil law, family law with special regard to matrimonial property relations, as well as bioethics.
• Anna Natalia Schulz PhD
  Research interests: family law and human rights with special regard to children's rights,
  International law concerning protection of family members and family rights, bioethics.
• Anna Urbańska, MA
  Research interests: civil law, family law with special regard to matrimonial property relations and maternity.
